Botox Treatments

Botulinum toxin is produced by a specific type of bacteria. In higher amounts, it can be poisonous. However, only small, weaker doses are used to reduce facial wrinkles along the forehead, between the eyebrows, and around the eyes.

​

When botulinum toxin is injected, it blocks certain nerve signals that make muscles contract. The muscles relax, reducing unwanted wrinkles. A Botox treatment is not permanent and usually lasts anything between 6 to 12 months. After that, the muscles move again and wrinkles come back.

Within the first week of your Botox treatment, you should notice your muscles start to relax, and fewer facial lines and wrinkles.

Side effects are rare. In general, your Botox treatment could lead to injection-related effects such as swelling, redness, pain, itching, discolouration, and tenderness at the injection site. These reactions only last for up to one week.

Dermal Filler

Hyaluronic acid is the most hydrating substance in the world, and a naturally occurring sugar in the body alongside elastin and collagen. It provides skin tissue with adequate moisture levels to help hold its form, keeping your skin looking hydrated and plump.  Hyaluronic acid also comes commercially in the form of a gel that can be injected into areas that have lost volume such as lips, nasobial lines, marionette lines, chin and jowls. By injecting the hyaluronic acid dermal fillers, we are inducing new collagen and new elastic to be formed, rejuvenating the face, lifting cheek, lips and other areas of lost volume.

As with all treatment procedures, there is always a risk, however it is minimal with the Hyaluron Pen. It’s non-invasive, requiring no downtime and considered safe for most people who are in overall good health. Microneedling

​

Microneedling is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that’s used to treat skin concerns via collagen production. Also known as collagen induction therapy, this treatment may help those looking to reduce the appearance of acne scars and stretch marks.  It’s also used in certain anti-aging treatments and procedures, such as eyelid surgery and sun spots.  

 

Microneedling isn’t effective for hair loss, despite the possible role of collagen in hair growth.

 

Microneedling works by encouraging your skin to make more collagen. The idea is that pinpricks from the procedure cause slight injury to the skin and that the skin responds by making new collagen-rich tissue.  This new skin tissue is, in turn, more even in tone and texture. It’s normal for the skin to lose collagen via age or injury. By encouraging the skin to make new tissue, there may be more collagen to help make the skin firmer, too.
 
During the procedure, our therapist makes small pricks under the skin with a pen-like tool. The pinpricks are so small that you likely won’t notice them after the procedure. Our therapist will move the tool evenly across your skin so that the new skin that rejuvenates will be even, too.
